The Female Nude was already painted in many pictures of Amedeo Modigliani. The elongated creation of his figure is very typical for this artist. In the whole prettiness this sculpture shows a naked woman, who stays in sitting position and performs her feminine charms. Amedeo Modigliani created the model for this motif between 1913 and 1915. African influences, which the artist liked to use, are also to see in this sculpture. The flowing movement, the round forms of the 100 per cent bronze figure give a charming picture. The head is lightly tended backwards and the eyes are closed in a relaxed position. The sculpture is fixed on a round marble base, which underlines the noble expression of this figure. The sculpture has a signature of Amedeo Modigliani.
For creating these bronze sculptures the lost-wax casting is used. The objects are casted in hand-work. They are made under strict quality instructions.
